Adithi's Work

Adithi, which is run by Ms. Viji Srinivasan was started in 1988, to work for the upliftment of rural women with help from Medha Shekhar and other staff members. Its is now a large organization in Bihar helping women and girl children; empowering their lives. David Dimbleby ran a short program on TV showing only one aspect of their work "saving little girl babies from infanticide." They educate thousands of little girls, and train local women in various activities like handicrafts and encourage them to start small businesses like shops, farming and fishing etc., so that they can help their young families economically. Adithi is attempting to open the "cage doors" and let women and girls break-free from caged lives. As we are concerned with female welfare, we hope to give them a better standing in life by helping them financially.
